Nongkrong Bareng: A Celebratory Dinner (18.00-21.00)
Friday, November 6 (18.00-21.00)
POST Weverstraat 40, 6811 EM Arnhem
This event is part of the three-part series Interplay of Commons: a Site for Collective Care and Alternative Economies
How might we nourish our bodies and souls with the reflections and practices of commoning?
Nongkrong Bareng: a Celebratory Dinner closes the 'Interplay of the Commons' programme. Nongkrong is an Indonesian informal gathering in a communal space for people to connect, and for social relationships to grow and prosper, while holding space for future interactions to emerge. We will nurture our bodies during the dinner while celebrating the coming of local communities, artists, and collectives and reflecting on the knowledge harvested during the previous sessions. The tapestry, collective mapping, and readers made from the 'Sewing Threads of Resistance' and 'Circular Gathering' will be displayed at POST for visitors to trace back on the co-creations and discussions of 'Commoning' theory and practice. We will serve an Italian-Iranian fusion two-course dinner, alongside a complimentary Indonesian ginger tea made by the Arnhem- and Rotterdam-based, student-led collective CookLab.
All donations gathered will be given to WCC Yogyakarta, Indonesia, an organisation that provides shelter for elderly trans women.
