The concert and workshop both take place at the Ayasa's venue in Eemnes, the Netherlands (the exact address will be printed on the ticket).
About Archer & Tripp:
Centered around the Hang, multi-instrumentalists Samantha Archer (UK) and Jaron Tripp (GER) create a unique blend of world music that varies from acoustic trance to complex polyrhythmic compositions. Whilst offering an intricate listening experience to the knowledgeable ear, their emotional and dynamic playing opens the space for a joyous sound journey at the same time.
About the workshop:
Beginning with a short TaKeTiNa journey, Archer & Tripp will introduce you to the world of polyrhythmic playing. Feeling pulse and rhythms in the body and voice, brings a closer bond and connection to our understanding of music.
Connecting elements of TaKeTiNa to your handpan playing can enable you to feel and understand the core pulses and to quickly be able to play polyrhythmically.
Alongside this method, we will explore touch, dynamics, accenting, melodic phrasing and composition.
What is TaKeTiNa?
TaKeTiNa is a powerful method, that allows a deep musical experience for both musicians as well as non-musicians. By introducing one element at a time we use the voice, steps and claps as tools to navigate through complex rhythmical patterns, unfolding a polyrhythmical journey which joyfully can open up a deeper understanding of pulse.
Why Polyrhythms?
Polyrhythms are rhythms based on two (or more) simultaneously ongoing pulses. Confusing at first for the mind, a polyrhythmic practise can broaden musical perception and anchor the feeling for pulse in the body.
